Love and coffee is in the air this month....February coffee of the month is from the south east Asian country of Myanmar. Historically not that well known for its specialty coffee production, we've seen more and more high quality coffees getting to our market these past few years and we're very happy to showcase Padah Lin as our first ever Coffee of the month from this country.
This coffee is produced by over 50 small scale farmers of the Danu and Pa-O Hill tribes that live in remote mountainous areas of the Ywangan region. Most farmers usually intercrop their land with a variety of other things, like avocados, papaya, jackfruit and macadamia ... sounds like vegan heaven!! The coffee was named after the Padah Lin caves, a World heritage site that features impressive prehistoric art in that area of the Shan state. The cherries were collected, processed, blended and exported by the Mandalay Coffee Group mill in Pyin Oo Lwin. This washed red catuai variety offers a very classic and sweet cup profile with notes of satsumas, brown spices and milk chocolate.The perfect cup of coffee to warm you up as the days start to get longer and the night get brighter.
